A fun and healthy tip would be to set a goal to eat food that is fresh and in season and have some fun while you’re doing it.
The best thing you can do to meet this goal is to regularly make the effort to shop at your local Farmers Markets and a side bonus is usually the many artisans and their crafts. So leave your cares and worries at home and get out and enjoy the local people who are working for a better tomorrow.
Take your time when you visit, talk with the local farmers about what they have and what they suggest as the best way to use their produce. Even if you never use it, you’ll find that the conversation will be very enlightening.
Suggested things NOT to do
Suggested things to do
Don't talk about yourself and your ideas - a true student never tries to teach his teacher - Listen.
Do not speak negative or discouraging words to the farmer. This is his passion or livelihood, the worst thing that you can do is to say things like, “I don’t like that.” Or, “I would never eat that.”
Try something new, the experience will enrich your life.
Buy something, even if you won’t ever use it; the experience is free to you so let the farmers or craftsmen know that you appreciate them.
